#RookieOfAtlanta Interview w/ @DenzelTheSage

1. Where are you from? 

 - Born in milwaukee, raised in Atlanta.

2. When did you fall in love with rap? 

 - I fell in love with rap as a kid, always being around it. I probably fell in love with it when I first heard Bone Thugs - N - Harmony in the 5th grade. 

3. How did you start rapping? 

 - I always rapped for fun with my friends and stuff growing up, but I didn't get serious about it until about last summer, that is when me and my brother Zay? created our DRKSD duo. We both began our musical journey. 

4. Who supports your career in music?

 -  My homies, my parents and older brother. 

5. What made you buckle down and take music serious? 

 - After realizing how good I was at it.

6. What movie describes your music and life? 

 - The Warriors is the greatest movie ever bruh. 

7. What was the first rap song you ever heard? 

 - I have no clue.

8. What was the first song you wrote?

 -  I don't even remember.

9. What type of beats of do you like to rap over? 

 - Any kind really, as long as it's dope. I like rapping over live instruments too. 

10. What type of artist are you? 

- Fye.

11. Where did you get your name from? 

 - I just kinda thought of it one day. 

12. What producers fit your sound?

 -  I like the greats, Madlib, Dilla, DOOM, Alchemist, Pharrell, etc. I really like a lot of Atlanta producers as well like my Digital Nas, I work with him a lot, Ethereal, Snubnose Frankenstein, Dylan Tran, Jared Brooks, and a few others. 

13. Who would you want to collab with in Atlanta? 

- Anybody who is dope really, I don't really care at this point. 

14. What is ExitCulture? 

 - Exit Culture is my band, we have an authentic rock/hiphop sound to our shit.  

15. Are you ready for the next step in your career?

 - Absolutely. 

16. How long does it take you to record? 

 - It all depends on how much I'm feeling the song, and or if a wrote the song or if I'm freestyling. 

17. What do you want your legacy to be?

 - Fye.

18. Has someone ever killed you on your own song and you had to come back to fix your verse? 

 - Never.

19. When is your project dropping?

 - DRKSD has a project dropping this summer, me and Digital Nas are dropping an EP, and my band also has a project dropping by the end of the year. 

20. Which is more important a street presence or an internet presence? Or both?

 - Both.

21. Is what your doing now going to benefit you 10 years from now? 

 - Definitely.

22. What experiences in life have made you who you are today? 

 - Idk lol, everything I guess. 

23. When everything is said and done what do you want GOD to say to you?

 - Job well done. 

24. What skills/personal attributes are most important to being successful? 

- Love, respect, and integrity.
