#FreshmenOfAtlanta #18OfTheBest
1. Zuse (Zooly Gang) @IamZuse
Anisa (@niiniisaidit)
- He’s a cool rapper. I think he needs to put out more music and build his buzz.
Wade (Defiant) @WadeBDefiant
Zuse is brilliant he does his own thing and it works I def think he is #1 on this list.
*StarrBoss @StarrBos (backseatpolitikz.com
It’s something about hearing bars spit with an accent that makes him even better. I’d like to hear more from him.
Guccii (Urban365atl) @GucciiT_
- I really like Zuse's voice. It's different and catches your attention. His word play is creative and memorable. I've also seen him preform a couple of times and his stage presence is amazing. He is a great performer and artist. I know he will go far in the industry. There's not many artists like him.
Tuck (@IJustWannaTuck)
- Know about him thru his relationship with Iceberg, humble, down to earth, like the feel of his music, gives you a very authentic Jamican vibe
Naij ( @KingNaij ) cre8iveignorance.com
Zuse is a dope feel for Atl imo. The Shotta vibe mixed in to the Atl music culture works very well. He has longevity.
2. Zip k @IamZipK
Zilla Noise (@heyimgiselle)
- After the eventful year that the artist Zip K has had, it’s no wonder why the talented rapper has snagged a position on this year’s Freshmen List. With the release of his highly-anticipated mixtape Clouded Judgment, the Atlanta native proves why he’s one of the best in the city with his quick-witted delivery and dynamic flow. If his consistent appearance on MTV Jams with videos “Long Days” and “Chevy Hump”wasn’t enough, his recent collaboration with Atlanta front runner OG Maco as well as his feature on CyHi The Prynce’s Black Hystori Project further reiterates the fact that Zip K is definitely an artist to watch out for.
TBo (Mula Radio) @TboSosa
- I know Zip Kennedy personally back from when I use to host parties at Georgia State, always knew the kid had bars. He promoted on campus, mix tape after mix tape all around the school grounds and i commend him for that type of hard work, it takes real integrity to do your own street work as an artist in this generation. If you haven’t had a chance to check out his mixtape with Translee called Takers 3, push play on that now. Whatever you do, don’t sleep on
Star Boss (BSP)
- Watching his growth over the last couple of years has been nice. He always had the wordplay and punchlines ready, but now they’re less obvious, there’s more confidence behind them. On another note, even when the hook and content are nowhere near serious, he still doesn't completely dumb down the track. The lyrics are still there and that’s dope.
Asia( PyramidMag)
- ZipK is definitely an artist whose hard work is surely paying off. His growth is honestly beautiful. From Sky Republic in 2011 to his recent Clouded Judgement project, Zip has made his mark in the city and beyond. I am excited to see the heights of his promising career.
King Naij (Cre8tive Ignorance)
- I haven't been listening to Zip K that long, but I feel he brings a real smooth feel to Indie hip hop. His style and production selection gives his music an eternal feel.
3. FlyGuyVeto @FlyzguyVeto_
Wade (Defiant)@wadebdefient
- I use to promote for Veto cause his grind and consistency and desire to win inspired me real loayl dude and knowing what he is doing
TBO (Mula Radio)
- I use to have Math class with Fly Guy Veto some years back. He’s a real cool cat with real ATL style.Very funny guy, from the west side of Atlanta I want to say. He mixes all of those characteristics into his music. His flow has changed a little over the years but still a dope artist in my eyes. He has a pretty cool track out right now called “Wrist” w/ the homie OG Maco, check that out if you haven’t.
Guccii (Urban365atl)
- I've known Fly Guy Veto for a minute now. And I have seen so much growth! I was also honored to have a dope interview with him. I respect his grind and his music. He's very smart and knows where he's going. That "WRIST" is a hit!
4. Zulu Faz @ZuluFaz
Asia (Pyramidmag) @AsiaHasSpoken
Zulu Faz's "Kingdom" record is actually one of my favorite songs right now. I love artists who actually utilize creative elements in their music to enhance their talent, and that is what Zulu does best. He steps outside of the typical Atlanta rap sound and establish his own sound.
5. Salma Slims @Salma_Slims,
Star Boss (BSP)
I digg her confidence. As long as she keeps bringing that to her tracks, she can make a statement. She just has to stay away from bubble gum raps, there’s enough of that to go around.
Guccii (Urban365atl)
My girl Salma! She's so Dope!! One of my favorite female artists honestly. She has an unique look that makes her stand out. Us females can also relate to her lyrics. That "Fuck Is You Sayin" is one for all the hatin ass bitches! (lol). She has great stage presence and a hype performer.
RainBloggedIt
Salma has been grinding for a while now. I remember her being in girl groups and now its her time to get some recongnition.
6. Michael Aristotle
Zilla
- There are very few artists coming out of Atlanta that possess the potential and drive that East Chain artist Michael Aristotle has displayed over this past year. His notable 2014 project What Tomorrow May Hold shows the Eastside rapper’s remarkable progression from the beginning of his music journey when he was merely Y. Teezy, a young, hungry rapper trying to find his way in the industry. Mikey’s versatility on tracks such as his On & On (Remix) and the soulful “Just a Thought”combined with the intricate story-telling displayed throughout his album puts him in the fight as one of the best lyricists coming out of the city. With his ability to turn up a crowd and kill his opponents within one verse, it’s evident that Aristotle is in the game for the long haul.
Wade (Defiant)
Michael is mad dope his lyric game crazy he got mad potential.
TBO (Mula RadiShould have worked with Michael Aristotle during our first season of M.U.L.A Radio. I like not only him but his entire team’s distinct style, very different from your average Atlanta music artist. Haven’t heard his music just yet but i came promise him featuring on our radio show really soon
Asia (Pyramidmag)
Michael Aristotle has proved himself to be a solid and consistent artist. He never half-steps--he always delivers quality music, with no two songs sounding alike. He does great collaborations! I can't wait to see what he has in store with his upcoming project Thanks for Nothing.
RainBloggedIt
I've been a huge fan of Michael since he was Y.Teezy. His growth as an artist is absolutely crazy. From the first project I've ever heard of him FYFR2 to now I see him going places. He's real underrated in Atlanta right now.
Naij (CRE8TIVE IGNORANCE)- He has an OVO vibe about him but he also has a real gutter side which is a unique combination in indie music. I feel his music will become hits effortlessly.
7. Yakki Divioshi @YakkiDivioshi
Wade (Defient)
- Why is he not on yet the whole vibe he sets off is just amazing
- Why is he not on yet the whole vibe he sets off is just amazing
TBo (Mula Radio)
I remember Yakki the most of all the HCK’s. His energy was dominating, I like demanding stage presence in an artist the most, coming from my event hosting background. You have to be able to grab the crowd entirely. Even though HCK has broken up or whatever happened, I still see Yakki in the streets of Atlanta.
Asia (Pyramidmag
I love the versatility and hunger Yakki consistently showcases through his music. He effortlessly changes his flows and keeps his music interesting. Songs like "D.R.AK.E." show just what I am referring to!
Tuck
Fist met him thru my artist Polo, grinder, been workin hard, like the energy in his music, D.R.A.K.E. track really lifted him and got people paying attention to him
Naij (Cre8tive Ignorance)
- He has a lot of the same qualities I named for Michael, aside from the gutterness of the music. He replaces the gutter feel with a mysterious feel in his music. Kind of like The Weeknd of hip hop.

8. Father @FatherAintShit
Wade(Defiant)
- I just got on Father but his lyricism and whole style is trendsetting I say the least.
TBo (Mula Radio)
I don’t know too much about Father. But i do know that track “Wrist, Wrist” featuring Key! & iLoveMakonnen go crazyyy in my Beats lol!
Star Boss (BSP)
wrist, wrist, wrist, wrist! the ‘Young Hot Ebony’ project was fun to listen to. I can tell he’s secure with his sound since he also produces his own tracks. The simplicity is refreshing.
Guccii (Urban365atl)
I really like Father. He's something new and fresh to the game. He's different and his music just makes you want to feel good.
Anisa-“Wrist” most definitely put him on the map this year. I don’t know about the content he’s pushing in his lyrics but his production is cool. I listened to his latest tape he put out and it was okay.
9. Coca Vango @CocaVango
TBo (Mula Radio)
Don’t know too much about Coca, heard many great thing about him. I do have that “Cheat” featuring Charlise J. on our soundcloud. I know some ladies who actually love that song.
Guccii (Urban365atl)
My Boy Coca Vango. He's a great artist and person. He's one of my favorite artists. I got a chance to interview him twice and he's very diverse. His tape with American Will called "American Vango" is one of my favorites. Their song "MIA" is a hit. Coca Vango also has hooks for days. Also, the ladies love him lol. I respect him because he sends me exclusives first =)
RainBloggedIt
Coca has to be one of my favorite artists right now. His growth from last year with his I Go Hard record to now doing shows makes me proud. He's literally hustled his way to the point where he is now.
10. Yung Fresh @1YungFresh
Guccii (Urban365atl)
Yung Fresh grind is crazy. I see his everywhere. And I Love "Hot Boy"
Tuck
Hard worker, consistent, grinding, hear about him for a long time and now putting a face to the name, great move signing to street execs, has a strong campaign as well as movement (Street Money), has the formula to be the next artist out of the A
Naij
- I like Fresh. He has street music that you can still move to. His character makes you want to listen and watch his videos more & more.
Anisa
He’s making some noise around the city.
11. Juju Gotti @JujuGotti
TBo (Mula Radio)
- I'm from the southside of Atlanta so I’ve heard many things about JuJu Gotti. We hosted a concert with The Southern Playas back in September, he was one of the headliners. Think I had about 15 ppl come to me as I was literally on the mic hosting this event, asking “what time does JuJu Gotti go on”? Think he had the second biggest crowd at the concert next to Southern Playas. It was in our intentions to save some of the best artist for later during that concert, he was in that category. In result of the concert reaching capacity his performance was cut short and I personally missed my experience of JuJu Gotti on stage. Im sure him and MulaRadio will be joining forces pretty soon. Very dope music though, please check him out if you haven’t.
Guccii (Urban365atl)
Mannnn JuJu Gotti! He won our first ever #SpitATL and man has he grown as an artist! I love his style/look. He's unique and you can see that in his music as well. He slick reminds me of Lil Wayne a little bit. Love his lyrics as well. He's really a talented artist and people need to be on the look out for him if they aren't already!
12. ManManSavage @ManManSavage100
TBo (Mula Radio)
Heard a few things about ManMan. I am a fan of Key so I catch him featuring on his tracks here and there. Very interested in getting an interview with him and Key really soon.
RainBloggedIt
All I can say is growth.
Anisa
- I love man man! The city is waking up on him for sure! He has great content. I think that he needs to put out a solid solo project in 2015 & the rest will be history.

13. Royce Rizzy @RoyceRizzy
Wade (Defiant)
Rizzy is mad dope I like his music.
TBo (Mula Radio)
Don't know Rolls Royce Rizzy at all. Was pleased hearing about his new deal with So So Def, I witnessed his hard work getting to this point. However on the consumer side of me, he has been a little quiet for a newly signed artist. I was expecting new mixtape, 3 new video’s, the whole works. I am anticipating way more from Rolls Royce Rizzy.
Asia (Pyramidmag)
I love Royce Rizzy's style and delivery. He truly reps his city, and it's beautiful. "Gah Damn" is still my song!
Know him thru his relationship with Iceberg & DJ Blak Boy, since joining Scrappy his music has constantly picked up and continued to get better, think the Gah Damn track really lifted him
Naij
- Rizzy is personally one of my favorite. Hie has a message in his music that i don't think everyone has taken notice to yet.
14. NicX @NicXNation
Zilla
As someone who has seen the talented rapper known as NicX battle it out in high school talent competitions, the current buzz surrounding the Ohio-bred artist is not only shocking but gratifying. His impressive mixtape “Cleveland Music Presents: byron, Lion” packages the artist’s ill lyricism, witty punchlines and aggressive flow into a product that’s definitely worth the listen. With his recent tune “Fuck What My Name Is (Lil Hoe)”, as well as captivating visuals for singles “Merk” and “Phases”,NicX proves that he is able to create a track that both new listeners and old fans are bound to enjoy. While currently moving in silence and molding his craft, one can only imagine what he is cooking up. With NicX’s lyrical capabilities and creative concepts, this is clearly only the beginning for the rising star.
Asia (Pyramidmag)
NicX is truly one of my favorites. I love his style and uniqueness--that is what will first attract you to his work. But once you give his records a listen, you genuinely appreciate his artistry and his growing movement.
Star Boss (BSP)
I love his flow. Period. Lol
RainBloggedIt
Nicx is one of those artists where all you can say is wow dude is talented.
Naij
-Another one of my personal favorites. NicX is like a mix between Odd Future, Bone Thugs, & Nas. Weird mix but thats the feel I get from his music. He also has a message not too many people have taken notice to as of yet.
15. Runway Richy @RunwayRichy
Now people need to watch for him Richy really is dope man he brings a vibe that no artists out of Atlanta can touch/reach
16. Jacquees @Jacquees
TBo (Mula Radio)
Met Jacqees at one of his shows at Vanquish w/ Jagged Edge. Very eager young guy and ambitious to get in the game. Not to mention very talented. You really could mistake the guy for Chris Brown if your not paying attention. Excited to see how he meshes with Rich Gang. Congrats on that & much love on all future endeavors.
Asia (Pyramidmag)
This artist is going places. There is no doubt about it. He has recently made major moves, and the beautiful momentum does not show any signs of concluding.
Starr Boss (BSP)
I really appreciate Jacquees’ overall talent. More specifically that he can sing and dance, rather than just being able to dance and letting that make up for lack of vocals. I’m interested to see how he can move within the industry since he’s with Rich Gang now. He really has the potential to win and help bring real R&B back.
Anisa- I think his EP 19 was VERY dope!!! My favorite song is “destiny child.” Lol He definitely has a promising future ahead of him. The move with rich gang he made was for sure beneficial but I loved him with “Think it’s a game” also. I cant wait to see what he does in 2015.
17. Kris J (Members Only) @ImKrisJ
I use to throw parties with all of Kris J’s Management team. They really the homies including his DJ Outtaspace. Shoutout to their entire campaign seriously though, very proud of them. They really have Kris J out in the streets. Kris J too has a song on our soundcloud, performed at our Industry Mixer called Mula Mondays and also The Southern Playas and Friends Concert. He also has an interview scheduled with MULA Radio at the end of November so stay tuned for that. On another note he has dope bars and great stage presence check out his soundcloud if you haven’t.
18. Young Losa @YoungLosa
TBo (Mula Radio)
Queen Losa, “aaahhh maaan” coolest female artist I know thats not from Atlanta. With me being apart of the OGG movement i met her at a pool party w/ OG Maco. Its like she came down here and blended positively with all the right people. Started following her on social media, and with the dope visual’s she gives her fans I had to book her for an interview on our show. It was super dope and if you haven’t heard that yet, go check it out on our soundcloud by searching “mula-reloaded”
Guccii (Urban365atl)
LOSA!! She is DOPE as fuck. Real shit. You would not think she raps by the way she looks and that's what I love about her. She speaks real shit. Her music period is dope as fuck. She's unique in her own way and that works. Anyone can really relate to her music. I really love all her production, it's like she's not afraid to take risks and thats's what makes her different especially being a female artist. Her lyrics are crazzyyy. She sets the bar high for every artist including male artists! She will go very far in the industry
Anisa
-I’ve only heard a few of her songs but I think she has the look the for sure to be a female rap/trap star. I love her with her orange/red hair. Her & FKI make good music together. I’m interested in seeing what she does in 2015 to build her buzz up.
