#RookieOfAtlanta Interview w/ @KingJaiMusic

1. Where are you from?

 •  I'm originally from birmingham alabama moved to GA when I was 16. 

2. When did you fall in love with music?  

  •  I was introduce to music since a youngin! I was in the choir then from there i joined my school band in the 4th grade!

 3. Why do you this? 

 • I do music because it levels me out and so that one day I might be able to give my family support and take the places we only dream of where I'm from.

4. Who are your influences in music? 

 • My musical influences come from a few old school artist as well as new! mystical, do or die, bone thugs and my boy pastor troy. new school i like j cole and kendrick for their delivery and art of story telling!

5. Describe your musical style. 

 • My style is a more emotional aggressive style, I like for people to feel my music instead of just hearing my music

6. What was the first song you knew from start to finish?

 •  Do or die - do you 

7. When will have a new tape dropping soon?  

• I recently just dropped my first EP so im pushing that solo right now with the help of those who actually listen then support! we've reached over 20,000 views in less than a month on livemixtapes

8. Who do you want to collab with in the future?

 •  The list is long but i would love to work with Do or Die, Pastor Troy, Twista, Mystical, J.Cole, kendrick, and Drake

9. What is your least favorite song that you have recorded? 

•   Honestly I put so much into each song i don't have a least favorite

10. How long does it take you to record?

  • That all depends on the beat! if I'm feeling it and it speaks to me then we dropping a full song in like 1 hour and 30 but if we just vibing then like 2 hours 

11. Where do you think you fit in Atlanta music scene? 

   •   Im in atl but im def not an atl rapper! the response I get from my music is like "you really can rap"and its funny because a lot of independent rappers coming up can make songs but not a lot can make music! I want to be worldwide with my music! 

12. How does what your doing now shape your next 10 years?

 • My grind is impeccable and it shows so I only see it going through the roof and beyond!

13. What do you want people to get from your music?

 • I want people to understand that you van have fun and put real emotion in your music, also that it doesnt happen over night! everything worth having takes time!

14. Is there a such thing as a perfect beat? 

  •  Yes, and those are those beats where you only hear the 1st two seconds and know its the one! 

15. What is your next track that your going to drop be?

 • I have so manyI haven't dropped yet but one I wroteI'm waiting to record is "I aint the same no more" prod by @kidclass

16. What was your first stage name? 

 •   I had a friend who got locked up in alabama so i was repping for the fam so I went with J gutta 

17. How did you get your name from?

  • I now go by King Jai, i chose this now because I know I'm a provider to my family and they all depending on me to bring back success! and a king is some one who sacrifices everything to make sure his people get what they need! 

18. If you had to listen to one mixtape for the rest of your life what would it be?

   • If not mines then j. cole first tape the come or the warm up! light s please lights please lol 

19. If someone had never heard your music before what would tell them before they listened? 

 • I simply tell them if your not more than satisfied i will by it back and so far i have no returns!

20. What experiences in life have made you who you are today?

 •  Damn where do i start! it was hard growing up moving from house to house not having food to eat sometime growing up in the hood! One thing I learned though in life is love cant take you a long way and my mom gave us plenty of that! one thing i dont regret is being held back in school because after that i woke up and my life changed! I was gang banging and was feeling like i had no one at the time so i resulted in violence and taking my anger out on other kids! thank god for change and evolution! 

21. When everything is said and done what do you want GOD to say to you?

 • I know your pain but i did it for a reason and you did exactly what I expected! You went up and beyond to make it happen! 

22. Who are you? 

 • Im just a country boy in a big city with a story to tell! We On Go
