- I started rapping at the age of 12 years old.
2.Who are some of your influences in rap?
- Tory Lanez, Los, Wiz Khalifa, Wale, Issa, And Braz Swavey are big influences in my career.
3. How did you start rapping?
- Me and my two bestfriends Braz Swavey and Davion Marquis were in the house sad because of my grandfather passing away. We all had this serious conversation about we should make all our loved ones proud by doing something with our lives, and my whole family had talent of singing, dancing, rapping, and just entertaining period. So I told Braz and Davion I wanted to continue on that legacy of music. And as the great bestfriends they were, they accepted it and agreed to help me as far as I can go with it.
4.Do you consider yourself a Chicago rapper or a Atlanta rapper?
- Well, I would consider myself a Chicago rapper because that's where my roots of music came from, but Atlanta made me who I am today. So really I'm an Atlanta rapper.
5.Who supports you in your music?
- My fans, friends, family, teachers and pretty much everybody in my surrounding. My teachers once said they're happy that I'm doing something productive with my life instead of being out here selling drugs, failing school, and making nothing of my life. And I'm glad because they support me on what I put all my hard work and time to.
6.Is it more important to have a online presence or a street presence with being an artist?
- Definitely an online presence. More people can hear my material on the internet than the streets. Having a street presence is cool and all but being a street rapper isn't me even though I was born and raised in the slums of Englewood Chicago. People in the streets show me love and I appreciate them but people online show me the most love.
7.How did the YoungnFreshest movement come about?
- Young N Freshest is basically a music group. I was discovering artists that had rapping skills, and singing skills with no studio to go to. And I had a big buzz of my music so I decided to make the music group with 6 other artists so they can get the love I get from people and we will work hard and work together as a team so we can all go somewhere in the industry and most people think we're a clique or gang but we're to cool for ask that.
8.How did you meet Nessly and Braz?
- Me and Nessly knew of each other from myspace for about 4 years now and one day this year we met in person and had a conversation about making some songs together. We linked up and we've been working in his studio almost everyday and everynight. And me and Braz go back to when I was 5 years old. His grandparents and my grandparents were great friends plus we lived across the street from each other. So one day my grandmother told me to go outside and meet him. I was shy because to me he was considered a big kid to me. I was 5 and he was 8. He was outside so I walked to him to meet him and he was the first friend I ever had, but now we are more like brothers. Blood wrought make a difference.
9.Your in school, so how does that you and your music?
- School doesn't effect my music. My school work comes first before music. I'm more focused on getting that diploma.
10.When you did the BET Blaze the Stage how did you feel?
- It felt great! I honestly love the crowd the were showing me love. It was a great experience to perform in that many people that actually want to hear me. I can't wait to start performing at more concerts.
11.How did you hook up with Braz?
- Braz was a friend I had for 11 years and we always would be together wherever we go. People always know it's Trayce N' Braz all the time. If people aren't able to contact me they contact Braz because they know we rolling somewhere acting a fool having fun or in the studio working. And Braz was rapping way before me he just didn't take it as serious as I did until last year.
12.What experiences in life has made you who you are today?
- Well struggling with my family made me who I am. My grandparents took care of me until I was 12. They both died on the same year of stomach cancer. Then it was me and my dad trying to make it. He been in prison for years before they died and rusts was his first time he was on his own. We were homeless at one point, I then we stayed in trailers, hotels, shelters, and cars. We were struggling but that didn't make me quit on life. That made me understand to make something of my life, graduate high school, go to college and stay dedicated to music and God will get me through everything. So my pops got him a good job, he started making money and he bought him a house then we start living like how we were suppose to. But now me and Braz have a house in Atlanta, living the life.
13.If you had a choice what label would you sign to?
- My choices would be The Roc Nation, or Good Music only because I know I have what out takes to be with those labels.
14.What song was hard for you to write?
- . Battle Of The Exes because the song was relating to me and my ex-girlfriend going back and forth at each other. It took my 3 months to write after all the drama and arguments we went through.
15. When everything is said and done what do you want God to say to you?
- I would want him to say that I done a good job by living life because of me providing for my family, always having faith in him and never turn him down no matter what I go through. I live to please him and if everything ends for me he's all I have. Thanks for the interview.
Sincerely, Trayce.
