New Atlanta:Up Close And Personal With - Danny Boy

 I first hear of Danny Boy on Youtube when I was watching a video on Da Kidd Half. He was on the the suggested people to watch on the side. Well after several months of not thinking he lived in GA I found his twitter page and found out he did. His new mixtape 'Spring Break" drops March 31st.

1.Who made you start rapping?

 - My family is really heavily into the music culture, so I was always around it then I just gravitated towards it. 

2.What separates you from other rappers in your age group?

 - I like to think that i'm more diverse. I don't talk about the same things most artists talk about. My personal life experience isn't like the average persons' so I think I have a lot more subjects I can tap into to instead of being enclosed in one area.

3.Who are your biggest influences in music?

 -  Biggie, Tupac,Jay-Z,Fabolous,Kanye West,The Ghetto Boyz,Pimp C,UGK,Snoop Dogg,Slick Rick,Warren G,Rakim, and 50Cent. Basically every rapper that came from nothing and worked hard to make it.

4.Has anything from your past helped you to write music?

 - EVERYTHING, I only talk about what I know or what i've been though, so yeah my past influences a lot of my music.

5.What was the hardest song you ever had to record?

- A song called "A+ 100" off my "First Semester" mixtape. I had so many different flows on that one song it was kind of hard to keep up lol.

6.Is being a independent artist better then being on a major label or harder/

 - It has it's pros and cons. Right now I have a great fan base and a nice following with no label,but having a label behing me would be to. They give you everything you need that you just can't go and buy off the street.

7.Who would you like to collab with in the future?

 - EVERYBODY,I love music with all my heart and I would love to work with anybody.

8.If you had a choice what label would you sign to?

 - Right now,I don't even know. I have respect for all the label and whoever would offer the best deal.

9.What label to you right now is best for rappers?

 - I can't really say because I've only been a few so I can't really speak on all of them. But for the most part every label is good,it just depends on what you bring to the table

10.Who supports you in you doing your music?

 - My fans and my family are my biggest supporters. Most of them have been here since day 1 and its like I gain new fans everyday. That's the best feeling in the world. I owe it all to GOD to.  

11. Why did you name your new mixtape "Spring Break"

 - The concept of "Spring Break" is following up on "First Semester" which was more lyrical and serious. "Spring Break" is more fun and party type.

12.What did you listen to while making your mixtape?

 - I listen to every genre of music. Ususally when i'm recording a project I don't come off sounding like another artist. 

13. What do want your fans to take from this tape?

 - I want them to see a new party, fun side of me but it's still the "Danny Boy" they know and love.

14.Who all produced on the tape?

 - A number of producers from Kevin"K-Mac"Mccall,Unique Weirdo,Quaid Beatz,all phenomenal producers.

15.Who are you and what do you do?

- I'm Danny Boy and I am going to change the world. 

16.When everything is all said and done and your walking up the pearly gates what do you want GOD to say to?

 - God's going to say" Danny, you changed the games, you changed the world" lol.
