Freshmen Of Atlanta Interview w/ @DaKiddHalf
I got the chance to interview to Encore Empire artist DaKiddHalf. I first learned of this artist from Twitter and did my research on Youtube and I was pretty impressed.
1.How old were you when you started rapping?
- I was 8 when I started writing... but didn't started recording until I was 14.
2. Why did you start rapping?
- My dad.. he's a well know artist in my hometown & in South Georgia .. I thought if he can do... I can too lol .
3. How do you describe your sound?
- Bi- Polar.. lol I can make the most ignorant song you've ever heard, then turn around and make the deepest love you ever heard. Its very versatile.
4. What was your most memorable performance and or/ collaboration?
- My most memorable performance was at Ceder Grove High's talent show a while back. The crowd embraced me a celeb. And my most memorable collab is w. everybody that took time to work with me.
5.How do you balance school and music?
- College isn't even hard to me lol so i'm never really busy... meaning i'm always open to do something musically.
6.What was the first rap you ever wrote? And would you ever let other people hear it?
- The first rap I ever wrote was funny .. I don't remember the name.. I just remember roasting a female I knew lol & I would so they can see how much I've grown as an artist.
7.Were you ever scared to collab with anyone?
- I was afraid to collab with my brother./C.E.O Y.Teezy when we first met. He was (and still) is a great rapper and always kept me on my toes.
8.What was the hardest song for you to ever write or record?
- The hardest songs for me to write are the ones that aren't about love or sex.
9.Who are your biggest supporters in you doing your music?
- My biggest supporters are my team Fly Carteel x Left Lane x Encore Empire, my girl Tori, my 2 #1 fans Mariah & Ashley and Team Half.
10. How did you come up with your name?
- My name was Half Tyme when I first started. (After my pops... get it?) & when I went solo from his label I kept Half.
11.Where do you want to be in the 5 years in your career?
- In 5 years I want be in iTunes library's EVERYWHERE, television,radio&touring.
12. If you had a choice what label would you sign to immediately if you had a chance?
- I'd sign with Young Money or Def Jam... hands down...( If the deals were good)
13. When everything is said and done and your walking up to the pearly gates what do you want GOD to say to you?
- "Welcome Home"
